Linear Park Plot Lines
Our competition winning scheme for Linear Park in Leytonstone is part of Making Places, an initiative funded by Waltham Forest Council to deliver creative projects across the borough. Plot Lines traces the pattern of houses that previously existed along the half a kilometer park in strips of lavender, with historic stories inscribed on plaques amongst meadow grasses and wildflowers.
This project is a collaboration between Matter Architecture and the artist Lucy Harrison, building on our knowledge of the borough and experience of working with communities to explore social history. The new park is part of the London National Park City initiative to celebrate and expand London’s green network.
