HMP Humber
The masterplan project was a pilot study for RSA Transitions: a policy proposal to re-use Ministry of Justice assets for the purposes of rehabilitation. Working with HMP Humber over a 2 year period, the project has been highly influential and directly informed the current Government justice policy.
A suite of collaborative design tools was developed, which were made by offenders within the prison workshops. Over 200 stakeholders – from local, regional and national scales – contributed to the design process. A green industries-led employment skills and training model is envisaged across the site, delivered in phases as funding becomes available.
